Job Description:
North Cariboo Christian School is thrilled to announce openings for both a full-time and a part-time Student Support Worker, starting in September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a vital part of a dedicated team that supports students with special needs, working closely with classroom teachers to enhance student learning and educational growth.
Role Overview
As a Student Support Worker, you will report directly to the Student Support Director and play a crucial role in our students’ educational journey. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Students with Special Needs: Working directly with students to ensure they receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
- Developing and Implementing Programs: Collaborating with teachers to create and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Facilitating Communication: Serving as a liaison between students, teachers, and outside agencies to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Offering Instructional Support: Providing instructional assistance both within and outside the classroom, utilizing appropriate resources to meet individual student requirements.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively with students with special needs. Preferred qualifications include an Education Assistant certificate or an equivalent credential, ideally coupled with recent experience in a school setting.
Compensation
The starting wage for a Student Support Worker ranges from $21.00 to $24.48 per hour, with placement on the pay scale based on your education and experience.
